Position Details  
Job Summary
Under general direction of the Assistant Athletics Director for Football Operations/Events & Camps, responsible for oversight of all equipment room operations for Intercollegiate Athletics (ICA) and Physical Education (PE). Oversee the purchasing and inventory of all equipment related to the 23 sport ICA program as well as the Physical Education Department. Coordinate operation of all laundry operations as well as locker room maintenance of ICA and Physical Education classes.
 
Physical Demands
Lift 20-40 pound sacks of laundry detergent and bins of laundry.  
 
Work Environment
This position is a critical position and subject to a background check. Employment is contingent upon successful completion of a background investigation including criminal history and identity check. Frequently works on weekends and/or evenings.  
 
Qualifications  
Minimum Qualifications
Knowledge of a wide variety of intercollegiate sports as well as physical education activities and the facility setup requirements for each. Experience working with all-school team apparel contract. Skill to maintain inventory records. Skill to operate industrial laundry equipment. Skills to repair and maintain a wide variety of athletic equipment.
 
Preferred Qualifications
Athletic Equipment Managers Association (AEMA) certification. Knowledge of electrical wiring and how it is used in a variety of scenarios including public address systems, electronic scoreboards, football field phones, etc. 
Skills to operate small power and hand tools and equipment including an industrial sewing machine, racket stringer, skill saw, power drill, soldering iron, etc. Skills to supervise and schedule personnel who have varied working schedules. Skills to keep safety records for all intercollegiate athletic and physical education activity class facilities. Computer skills to maintain a computerized equipment inventory by making entries and doing basic manipulation of an Excel spreadsheet.

Position Details   
Job Summary
Under general direction from the Sr. Associate Athletics Director/SWA, take a lead role in performing mission-critical software development utilizing sophisticated programming knowledge to deliver services to all of Intercollegiate Athletics, specific offices within the Office of the Registrar, Financial Aid, Admissions, Student Health Services, UCDMC as well as all current and prospective student-athletes and the NCAA. Systems created and maintained by this position must be operational 24 hours a day to ensure total compliance with strict NCAA rules thereby avoiding fines and penalties including, but not limited to, the forfeiture of athletic contests.  

Physical Demands
Work at computer terminal for extended periods of time.  

Work Environment
Work flexible schedule to meet business needs. Work occasional weekends on short notice. Work on-call for emergency computer problems.  

Qualifications   
Minimum Qualifications
Knowledge of relational database design, implementation and maintenance to create and maintain a very large, complex database system (nearly 50,000 records). Knowledge of and skill in various programming languages, including but not limited to C, C++, Perl, PHP, Javascript, Applescript, HTML, XML, and UNIX scripting languages to create and maintain software systems of various sizes and complexities. Skills to follow program logic, develop new applications, and modify existing applications. Knowledge of the design, configuration, and maintenance of server hardware and Mac OS, Windows, and UNIX Operating System software to ensure a stable and secure environment for client machines of various campus offices and departments running Mac OS X, and Windows XP. Skill in design and implementation of web-based technologies (PHP, FileMaker Server, Apache Web Server) to port database access to the web securely. Knowledge of issues related to cybersafety and security (hardware and software firewall design, implementation, and maintenance, server and client anti-virus software, secure network practice) to ensure data integrity and confidentiality of sensitive data of current and prospective student-athletes (SSN, grade information, financial information). Knowledge of network design and implementation including hardware and software configuration. Knowledge of backup strategy as well as disaster recovery design and implementation.  

Preferred Qualifications
Knowledge and understanding of NCAA systems to allow delivery and integration of student-athlete data into the NCAA database systems used to calculate APR and graduation rate. Experience with the various networking protocols. Organizational and project management skills. Knowledge of and experience with the computer program architecture of BANNER, PPS, and DaFIS. Financial management skills to oversee budgets as well as ability to research purchases. Knowledge of HIPAA, NCAA, Buckley Amendment rules and regulations as applicable to Intercollegiate Athletics. Understanding of Financial Aid, Office of the Registrar, Office of Admissions, UCDMC, and Student Health Services software and computer systems in order to integrate with Intercollegiate Athletics needs and NCAA monitoring requirements. Familiarity with smart phone devices, including iPhone and Blackberry.
