DAVIS, Calif. – Thanks to its strong performance at ninth-ranked Stanford last Saturday, UC Davis earned two top 25 in-season rankings for the first time in program history when both national polls were announced on Monday. When STATS FCS released this week's listing, the Aggies were ranked No. 21. Shortly thereafter, football earned a No. 25 ranking in the American Football Coaches Association FCS poll when the organization unveiled its national list of top programs.

Led by a defense that frustrated the Cardinal from the opening kick-off, and an offense that is now ranked No. 4 among all FCS teams in the country, football climbed two spots from last week's ranking in STATS FCS' media poll. This is the first time in program history that the Aggies earned a spot on the AFCA's list as a full-fledged Division I program.

UC Davis will face an Idaho team that is receiving votes from STATS FCS in Saturday's Big Sky opener. Kickoff from Aggie Stadium is set for 4 p.m. New UC Davis students are invited to participate in the annual Running of the First Years, and should arrive to Aggie Stadium at least 30 minutes before kickoff.
