Davis, Calif. - UC Davis led into the sixth inning on Tuesday against San Jose State but fell 10-3 to the Spartans at Dobbins Stadium.
The Aggies struck first in the midweek clash with
Nathan Peng doubling home
Nick Leehey for a 1-0 lead. The Spartans went up 1-2 in the second but
Jonah Henrickson's double to right in third inning scored Peng and Leehey for a 3-2 lead.
That lead held until the top of the sixth when San Jose State tied it on a homer and the Spartans went on to score six runs in the top of the seventh to pull away.
Peng continued to be a multi-position threat for the Aggies following up a weekend in which he pitched, DH'd and caught on consecutive days by going 2-4 as the designated hitter and pitching one hitless inning with one strikeout. It was his third straight multi-hit game.
The Aggies do not play again until a trip to Stanford on May 3, followed by three games at CSUN May 6-8.
