2012-2013 UC Davis Cheer Team

	Chelsea Co-captain Major: Animal Biology Class of: 2013 Hometown: Orange County, CA Bio: Chelsea is a fifth year student and hopes to someday have a career in animal medicine. She began gymnastics at age six and also did swiming, dance, diving, and twaekwondo. Chelsea has been cheering for about 10 years. She began cheerleading in high school on the varsity team. Her senior year she joined OC Allstars, where she cheered competively for three years on a level 5 and 6 team. She coached tumbling and competively cheerleading for about three years. She is currently a NCA instructor. She loves the outdoors, raspberry cheescake, snowboarding, and playing with her cat Pete. Chelsea loves UC Davis and all that the community has to offer. She hopes the spend her last year on the team making unforgetable memories and cheering her little heart out.
	Dani Co-captain Major: Equine Science Class of: 2013 Hometown: Atwater Bio: Dani is in her last year at UC Davis majoring in Equine Science. She has been a member of the cheer team for 4 years. Dani grew up doing gymnastics, horseback riding, and baton twirling. She is looking forward growing with the team this year.
	Ali Major: Design and Communications Class of: 2013 Hometown: Agoura Hills, CA Bio: Ali is a 4th year student and is participating in her first year on the cheer team. This is her fith year cheeleading, but she has been involved in gymnastics and dance since the age of five. She was a member of her high school competition cheeringleading team, serving as captain her 4th year and working as the assistant coach for the junior varsity competition team. Ali loves spending time with her family and friends, playing soccer, and going line dancing. She is a member of the Alpha Phi sorority and works at the Clinique counter at the UC Davis bookstore. Ali's favorite things about Davis are the farmers market and country nights at The Graduate. As a first year member of he cheer team, she is looking forward to performing at games and contributing to her team's ongoing progress throughout the year.
	Amanda Major: Geology Class of: 2013 Hometown: San Diego Bio: Amanda is a fourth year student participating in her third year on the cheer team. She started dancing tap, jazz, ballet, and acrobatic gymnastics at a young age and she spent ten years on various competitive acrobatic gymnastics teams with coach Kelly Conaway. Her hobbies include hiking, camping, and CrossFit. Fun facts about Amanda are that she has a rock collection and loves cheetah print! What Amanda likes most about Davis are the diverse groups of people she's met, the experiences she's had, and the great sense of community. During her last year on the cheer team, Amanda looks forward to seeing how far the team will grow together, what new skills will be accomplished, and having fun!
	Chenise Major: Textiles & Clothing and Communications, minor in English Class of: 2014 Hometown: Marysville, CA Bio: Chenise began cheering after attending a local high school clinic and has loved it ever since! The teams she has cheered for include youth recreation, competitive All-Stars, high school, and competitive high school. She was Captain of her high school squad, has coached youth recreational cheer, and has coordinated cheer clinics all throughout high school. Chenise has experience in all stunting positions, but definitely honed her forte as a base. Her favorite part about cheerleading is seeing all the people whose day brightens up just to see cheerleaders at events, like parades and community outings. A fun fact about Chenise is that her favorite color is purple and always has something purple with her or on her at all times!
	Chris Major: Psychology Class of: 2013 Hometown: Bakersfield, CA Bio: Chris has been a part of UCD Cheer for the past 3 years. He first got involved with cheerleading his senior year in high school. He is a Psychology major with a minor in Education. He is an alumnus of Delta Lamba Phi National Fraternity. When he isn't cheering or in class, he is interning in Kindergarten classrooms or coaching his own cheer team at Davis Senior High School. His hobbies include bike riding, going to the movies, and spending time with friends.
	Daniela Major: Economics Class of: 2013 Hometown: Covina, CA Bio: Daniela is a fourth year student participating in her second year on the cheer team. Daniela began cheering in her junior year of high school when she was on the Covina High Competition Cheer Squad. Daniela's hobbies include spinning, reading, and relaxing with friends. One fun fact about Daniela is that she competed at the girl's state wrestling tournament her freshman year of high school. Her favorite thing about Davis is the college town feel. As a second year member on the cheer team, Daniela is looking forward to accomplishing new stunts and pyramids to showcase at sporting events.

	Emma Major: Managerial Economics Class of: 2014 Hometown: Davis, CA Bio: Emma is a third year student studying managerial economics in hopes of becoming an accountant. She has cheered since her junior year of high school at Davis High. Before starting cheer, Emma did competitive gymnastics for 10 years. Emma has coached youth and middle school cheer teams for Davis Junior Blue Devils. What she likes most about Davis is that she was born and raised here and has strong ties to the community and school. This year Emma looks forward to supporting the schools athletes as well as boosting school spirit.
	Jade Major: Biomedical Engineering Class of: 2017 Hometown: Santa Cruz, CA Bio: Jade is a first year on the cheer team. She has done cheer all throughout high school and hopes to continue cheering for all of college. She works for the United Spirit Association and loves teaching kids. Her hobbies include chocolate, cheer, and tutoring. A fun fact about Jade is that she loves to dress up! Her favorite week of school is spirit week because she can dress up all sorts and people won’t look at her quite so funny. During her first year of UC Davis cheer Jade is really looking forward to Picnic Day so she can see what all the hubbub is about.
	Jean Major: Class of: Hometown: Bio: Jean is a second year student participating in her first year on the cheer team. She started doing gymnastics at the age of 10 at Studio West Gymnastics and competed as a level 7 gymnast until she was 16. During her junior and senior year of high school, Jean was a part of the varsity cheer team. Her hobbies include eating, running, and playing Pokemon. A fun fact about Jean is that she was also a part of the varsity pole vaulting team her senior year of high school. What Jean loves most about Davis is that it is a college town far from home. Jean looks forward to representing UC Davis with her teammates as well as improving individually.

	Kayla Major: Mathematics Class of: 2014 Hometown: Vacaville, CA Bio: Kayla is a fourth year student participating in her first year on the cheer team. Kayla spent her four years of high school on the Vacaville High School Dance/Drill Team, where she learned to dance, choreograph and lead. Kayla’s hobbies include dancing, crocheting, hiking, baking, playing with dogs, traveling, drawing and watching Spongebob! An interesting fact about Kayla is that she wants to teach math to children who are deaf and hard of hearing. What Kayla loves most about Davis is the green grass and trees that can be found everywhere! As this is her first year not only on the UC Davis cheer team, but also on a cheer team in general, Kayla is looking forward to learning new skills and improving with the help of her teammates and coach.
