Compete Results

Junior Erinn Beattie took home the second-place title in the women's high jump event with both a career-best and UC Davis indoor record best of 1.76m to lead UC Davis in the first day of action at the New Mexico indoor track and field meet at the Albuquerque Convention Center on Friday.

The Ventura, Calif., native posted the highest individual finish out of all Aggie contingents that competed on day one of the New Mexico Classic. Beattie's 1.76m mark in the high jump, which is currently tied for 32nd in the country, bested the prior school record of 1.74m earned by Katie Barber at the 2015 Don Kirby Invitational. Prior to claiming the first place spot in the UC Davis record book, Beattie shared a three-way tie for third with a 1.70m indoor jump.

Among other highlights from the UC Davis women's indoor track and field team, sophomore Kierra Davis led the group of six Aggie entrants in the 200m dash, posting a 23.84 time that placed her 22nd out of 70 total competitors. Following Davis came Mikaela Adolphus, Kieana Butler, and Natsumi McGee, who claimed the 30th, 32nd, and 34th place spots, respectively.

Freshman Flora Oliveira placed fifth in the 400m dash to highlight her debut performance in the Division I scene, while Kayla Gibson and Emily Antonino crossed the finish line side-by-side in 16th and 17th place for the 600m run. Both Gibson and Antonino were just a few seconds short from the current third-place time in the UC Davis indoor record book.

The Aggies return to the tracks tomorrow morning for the second and final day of action at the New Mexico Classic in Albuquerque, N.M.
