2002-03: Repeated as PCSC CHAMPION in 200 breast, with mark of 2:05.18, 2nd all-time in Aggie annals... Won race by almost three full seconds... Also finished 3rd in 200 IM, 4th in 100 breast at conference meet... Reached final of 200 breast at NCAA Championships, but was DQ'd... Competed at nationals in 100 breast (16th) and 200 IM (30th).

2001-02: Competed at NCAA Championships in six events: both medley relays, both IMs, both breaststrokes... Reached national consolation finals in 400 IM (11th) and 200 breast (15th)... PCSC CHAMPION in 200 breast... Also placed 6th in 400 IM, 11th in 200 IM at conference meet.

2000-01: ALL-AMERICAN as part of the two medley relays... Foursome finished 3rd in 200 medley relay, 7th in 400... Advanced to consy finals in 200 breast and 400 IM at NCAA meet, placing 14th and 11th, respectively... Also placed 23rd in 200 breast, 29th in 200 IM... Advanced to 400 IM final at PCSCs, placing 6th... Made 13th place in 200 breast at conference.

LELAND HS '00: Placed 4th in 100 breast, 6th in 200 IM at Central Coast Section meet, leading team to 2nd-place finish... Named team MVP... Scored 96 goals in water polo as a senior, earning first team All-West Catholic Athletic League, second team All-CCS... Had five goals in CCS semifinal... Competed for San Jose Aquatics club from 1990 until 2000, earning MVP and Coaches' Award... Qualified for Junior Nationals in 200 breast.

PERSONAL: Born Aug. 25, 1981 in San Jose, Calif.... Carrying double major of Spanish and communication... Parents are Ed Fernandez & Laurel LeBaron... Ed was a swimmer at San Jose State... Lives with grandparents Ed & Gloria... Has three siblings: brothers Nate and Rob, and sister Jesse... Recently became an uncle.
