2008-09: Advanced to finals in the 400 IM at Big West Championships... Made consolation finals in 200 IM and 200 fly, scoring 25 points... Finished 8th in the 400 IM (3:58.98), and 10th in the 200 IM (1:51.25) and 200 fly (1:51.38)... Cracked the top 10 in each event, including 3rd in the 400 IM and 4th in the 200 fly... Claimed victories in the 200 fly during duals with Pacific and Cal State Bakersfield... Won 400 IM in UC San Diego dual.

MONTGOMERY HS '08: Advanced to North Coast Section Championships in 200 IM (9th), 100 back (10th) and 400 free relay (13th) as a senior... Best section finish was 4th (200 IM) as a junior... Named first-team All-Empire by the Press Democrat as a senior... Earned USA Swimming All-Academic and NCS Scholar-Athlete honors.

PERSONAL: Born in Santa Rosa, Calif... Majoring in technocultural studies... Parents are Steve & Sheri Hartz... Older brother, Scott, swam at Yale...
