STOCKTON, Calif. - The UC Davis women's swimming and diving team earned wins in 11 out of 14 events en route to a dominating 165-97 victory over MPSF foe Pacific, Saturday at the Chris Kjeldsen Pool Complex.
The Aggies downed the Tigers for the second time on the season after a 180-106 win in the first dual meet of the season for both teams. UC Davis improved to 8-2 in its dual meet schedule with a 5-0 mark in the MPSF while Pacific dropped to 5-4 overall and 1-2 in conference play.
After the Tigers won the opening event in the 200 yard medley relay, the Aggies rattled off nine consecutive event wins. UC Davis finished either 1-2-3 or 1-3-4 in six events during that time.
Cara Silvas earned an event win in the 1650 free with a time of 17:22.36 while Samantha Rados (17:38.70) and Maya Sprinsock (17:46.64) had lifetime bests, finishing second and third, respectively.
Hilary Hunt, Liliana Alvarez and Kayleigh Foley each posted a pair of event wins for the Aggies. Hunt won the 100 (58.47) and 200 (2:08.54) yard back, Alvarez had victories in the 100 (1:05.66) and 200 (2:22.72) yard breast and Foley added wins in the 50 (23.83) and 100 (51.51) yard free.
The Aggies also had season best times from Jessica Nicholson in the 200 yard back (2:16.68), Jodi Hanson in the 200 yard back (2:14.48) and Sabrina Cochrane in the 200 yard IM (2:08.77).
The Tigers were led by Hayley Shillington, who won the 500 free (5:03.71) and finished second in the 200 free (1:54.87).
UC Davis will be back in action next weekend, staying on the road for a dual meet at Cal State Bakersfield on Saturday, Jan. 1 at 1 p.m.
