BAKERSFIELD, Calif. - Kayleigh Foley and Liliana Alvarez were both double-event winners, helping the UC Davis women's swimming and diving team to a 173-114 win over Cal State Bakersfield on Saturday at the Hillman Aquatic Center.
The Aggies won their fifth straight meet while improving to 9-2 in dual meets this season. UC Davis also remained perfect in MPSF competition with a 6-0 mark, while the Roadrunners dropped to 2-7 overall with a 0-4 mark in league play.
The Aggies jumped out to a quick lead and never trailed in the meet, after taking wins in the first two events. UC Davis had nine wins on the day in the 16-event meet.
Alvarez won in the 100 (1:04.94) and 200 (2:22.53) yard breast, while Foley took victories in the 50 (23.96) and 100 (51.80) yard free. The Aggies also had event wins from Cara Silvas (1000 yard free, 10:33.44), Sara Ramos (200 yard fly, 2:07.40) and Megan Leung (100 yard fly, 58.35).
Sabrina Cochrane earned the event win in the 100 yard back with a lifetime best of 1:01.16. UC Davis had a total of five swimmers with season bests, with three swimming in events for the first time. Alyssa Britt and Jenah Dawson swam in the 100 free while Sarah Winters competed in the 200 IM.
Rachel McCall had a pair of event wins in the 200 (1:52.12) and 500 (4:59.40) yard free for Cal State Bakersfield.
The Aggies will close out the dual meet schedule with senior day next week, hosting UC Santa Barbara on Saturday, Jan. 28 at 11 a.m.
