COLLEGE STATION, Texas - In a similar performance to his opening-day efforts, UC Davis junior Scott Weltz finished 13th in the preliminaries of the 200-yard breaststroke and placed 16th overall to earn his second honorable mention All-American honors during the final day of the NCAA Division I Men's Swimming and Diving Championships at the Student Rec Center Natatorium on the campus of Texas A&M.

Weltz went 1:55.11 during the prelims of the 200 breast to gain a spot in the consolation finals. He finished 16th overall, going 1:57.11 in his second swim. His prelim time was his second-fastest mark of the season and was just 0.20 seconds off his school-record time. In addition, Weltz's 100 breast split of 55.25 in the prelims broke Matt Casto's five-year-old school record.

During the finals of the 200 breast, Georgia's Neil Versfeld broke NCAA and US Open records in a time of 1:51.40.

Weltz also earned honorable mention All-America honors in the 200 individual medley during the first day of the championships to score three points for UC Davis, which placed it in a tie for 39th out of 41 scoring teams. Auburn won the overall team title with 526 points, outdistancing Texas by 39 points.
