COLUMBIA, Mo. - The UC Davis women's swimming and diving team had six swimmers record top-10 school record times on day two at the Missouri Invitational Friday at the Mizzou Aquatics Center. Liliana Alvarez won the 100 yard breast event with a time of 1:00.95 and also met the NCAA qualifying B standard.
Katie Edwards, Cara Silvas and Karley Troup each have had multiple top-10 school records through two days, helping the Aggies to a total of 310 points. UC Davis remains in seventh place after a combined 28 events in the seven-team women's field. The Aggies entered the tournament with a 7-2 mark in dual meet competition.
Alvarez earned 20 points for UC Davis after taking the 100 yard breast finals win. Sam Rados had a top-10 finish in the 400 yard IM after qualifying for the A finals with a time of 4:25.05. Other notable finishes on Friday included Kayleigh Foley in the 200 yard free (4th - 1:48.61) and Lauren Damian in the 100 yard backstroke (8th - 56.99).
UC Davis finished fifth in the 200 yard medley relay with a season-best time of 1:42.17 and added a fourth place finals finish in the 800 yard free relay (7:28.05).
Alex Richardson, Katherine Gonsalves and Jennifer Meyer each competed in the 1-meter diving finals, posting scores of 189.15, 184.15 and 160.95, respectively.
Day three will again feature a 10 a.m. session of prelims, followed by the finals at 6 p.m. Competition will include the 200 back, 100 free, 200 breast, 200 fly, 1650 free and platform diving on Saturday.
