COLUMBIA, Mo. - The UC Davis women's swimming and diving team wrapped up its competition at the Missouri Invitational on Saturday while Liliana Alvarez and Kayleigh Foley met the NCAA qualifying B standard in the 200 breast (2:12.72) and 100 free (49.62) events, respectively.
The Aggies, who scratched a number of swimmers from events to focus on improved times in the finals, ended with 477 points and a sixth-place finish. The host school Missouri won the tournament in both the women's and men's fields.
UC Davis had 18 out of 19 swims in the finals that were faster that the respective preliminary times on Saturday. Alvarez's 200 breast time earned her the event win, her second win in breaststroke events on the weekend. Foley managed to finish third in the 100 yard free event.
The Aggies had other top finishes in A finals events from Karley Troup in the 200 yard fly (5th - 2:02.76), Megan Leung in the 200 yard fly (6th - 2:02.85) and Katie Edwards in the 200 yard breast (7th - 2:16.50).
Similar to Friday, the Aggies had eight players that entered into or moved up in the all-time UC Davis top-10 records.
For the divers, Katherine Gonsalves and Lauren Jesse competed in the platform diving event for UC Davis, tallying 178.40 and 166.15 scores, respectively.

The Aggies will enjoy an extended break from competition over the holidays, before getting back into dual meet action on Jan. 14 at Pacific.
