DAVIS, Calif. — The UC Davis women’s divers will make their way to Southern California this weekend for their first competition of 2018 at the Bruin Diving Invitational hosted by UCLA at Spieker Aquatics Center in Los Angleles.

The three-day contest will begin with the women’s 1-meter program on Friday (Jan. 12), followed by the women’s 3-meter event on Saturday (Jan. 13), and the women’s platform on Sunday (Jan. 14). Preliminary rounds of competition will begin at 10:30 a.m. each day with a 15-minute intermission separating each of the preliminary and final rounds.

Angelina Proshak, Jessica Fernandez, Inessa Toropov, Amanda Chau, Alisha Miller, and Katie Truong will represent UC Davis in a field featuring 13 other squads: UCLA, Cal Poly, California Baptist, California, Fresno State, Hawai’i, Northern Arizona, San Diego State, San Jose State, Stanford, UNLV, USC, and Utah.

Freshman Katie Truong currently ranks eighth on the Mountain Pacific Sports Federation Top Dives list for the one-meter program with 248.47 points, while junior Jessica Fernandez ranks eighth in the league for the three-meter program with 237.30 points. Senior Angelina Proshak ranks seventh overall in the platform event with 183.30 points followed freshman Alisha Miller in eighth with 178.50 points.
