LOS ANGELES - Freshman Lucy Lafranchise led a contingent of five UC Davis divers that had a solid showing on the 3-meter board during the first day of action from the Spieker Aquatics Center at the UCLA Diving Invitational in Los Angeles.

Lafranchise finished 28th (227.85) after the morning's preliminary round, one spot ahead of freshman Hanna Tears (222.00).

UC Davis' other three competitors in the 3-meter event included junior Lauren Jesse (45th, 185.10), sophomore Shannon Stewart (51st, 175.20) and freshman Audrey DeNeffe (53rd, 140.05).

Action from the Bruin Diving Invitational will continue in its second, and final day of competition starting at 11 a.m. on Saturday, Jan. 12, on the 1-meter board. Aggie swimmers will also compete on Saturday against the Pacific Tigers in a 12 p.m. dual meet at the Schaal Aquatics Center.
