UC Davis earns ninth straight CSCAA Scholar All-America team distinction

DAVIS, Calif. — Showcasing its’ success both in the pool and in the classroom, the UC Davis women’s swimming and diving team was one of 688 squads representing 430 institutions across all divisions to be named to the College Swimming and Diving Coaches Association of America (CSCAA) Scholar All-America Team for the 2017 fall semester as announced by the organization on Monday.

The award marks the ninth consecutive term the Aggies have been honored by the CSCAA, an award presented twice annually, once in the fall term and, again, in the semester/term of the NCAA/NAID/NJCAA swimming and diving championships. In order to be selected as a CSCAA Scholar All-America Team, a program must achieve a grade point average of 3.00 or higher for the fall term.

Six of the seven members of the Mountain Pacific Sports Federation earned spots on the list as Hawai’i led the group with a GPA of 3.50, followed by UC Santa Barbara (3.21) and San Diego (3.18). UC Davis (3.17) and BYU (3.17) tied for the fourth-highest GPA and were followed by Pacific (3.02).

Knox College led all teams on the women’s side with a GPA of 3.80, while Macalester posted the highest GPA on the men’s side at 3.77. A complete list of the honored programs is available at http://www.cscaa.org/news/2018128/fall2017scholaraa.
