UC Davis Lands 14 on MPSF All-Academic Team

WOODLAND, Calif. - In addition to capturing another Mountain Pacific Sports Federation championship and numerous all-conference honors this season, 14 Aggies were named to the league's 2013 All-Academic team as announced by MPSF Executive Director Al Beaird. 

Swimmers and divers representing UC Davis this season include: sophomores Marilyn Carey, Sarah Luibel, Sam Rados and Shannon Stewart; juniors Liliana Alvarez, Sabrina Cochrane, Megan Leung, Maya Sprinsock, Madeline Talt, Karley Troup and Sarah Winters; seniors Nicole Bahbout, Grace Benefield and Morgan Lee.

To receive All-Academic recognition, student-athletes must carry a 3.00 or higher cumulative grade point average, must be at least a sophomore academically, completed one full academic year at their respective institution prior to the season for which the award is being received and competed in 50 percent or more of the institution's events that season.

Alvarez, Bahbout, Benefield, Cochrane, Leung, Talt and Winters also earned All-Academic honors last season.

A total of 92 swimmers and divers earned spots on this year's list; in addition to UC Davis' 14 student-athletes, Hawai'i led the league with 15 selections followed by BYU and LMU (13 apiece), Pacific (12), Cal Poly (11), San Diego (8) and UC Santa Barbara (6).
