Aggies’ academic success recognized by CSCAA

June 28, 2018

DAVIS, Calif. — The UC Davis women’s swimming and diving team’s success in the classroom was recognized once again, standing as one of 176 Division I institutions across the country named to the College Swimming and Diving Coaches Association of America Scholar All-America Team for the 2018 spring semester as announced by the organization.

The award marks the 10th consecutive term that the Aggies have been honored by the CSCAA dating back to the fall term of 2013 — the only current Mountain Pacific Sports Federation women’s program to do so in that span — while boasting its highest team GPA (3.31) in that stretch.

UC Davis is one of five MPSF programs honored during the spring term, joining Hawai’i (3.49), San Diego (3.38), Pacific (3.21), and BYU (3.16). St. Francis led the nation on the women’s side with a 3.81 GPA. A complete list of honorees is available here:

The CSCAA bestows honors twice annually, once in the fall term and, again, in the semester/term of the NCAA/NAIA/NJCAA championships. In order to be selected as a CSCAA Scholar All-America Team, a program must achieve a grade point average of 3.00 or higher for the fall term.

Founded in 1922, the College Swimming Coaches Association of America (CSCAA) is an organization of professional college swimming and diving coaches committed to serving and providing leadership for the advancement of swimming & diving at the collegiate level.

Providing a small-town community feel while providing a world-class academic experience, UC Davis is home to more than 37,000 students and centrally located between San Francisco, Lake Tahoe, and the Napa Valley.
