2012: Placed 6th in 400 (56.79) at Big West Conference Championships, hitting team season-best 55.04 in prelim... Moved into 3rd in school history... Added 9th in 200 (24.89), plus 3rd-place showings as part of each relay at conference... Ranks 8th on school's 200 list... Went 24.42 at Sac State Open, although with aid of +5.2 wind... First broke 25-second barrier with 24.91 at Woody Wilson Classic... Attended Arizona State in the fall before transferring to UC Davis.

ST. FRANCIS HS '11: Competed at CIF state championships all four years, including three as an individual... Placed 8th in 200 (24.85) as a sophomore for best state finish... Finished 22nd and 14th in 200 as a junior and senior, respectively... Sac-Joaquin Section Masters runner-up in both 200 and 400 in 2011... Prep PRs were 12.03 in 100, 24.34 in 200, the latter of which would have been the UC Davis record at the time.

PERSONAL: Born in Sacramento, Calif.... Majoring in political science... Mother, Cesley Nixon, graduated from UC Davis in 1983... Career highlight was finishing 8th at CIF state meet... Prerace ritual is to eat a spoonful of honey.
