PETALUMA HS '12: California indoor champion as a senior, tying PR of 11-6 as a member of North Coast Vaulting Association... Placed 2nd (school/league record of 12-0.5) at Redwood Empire Area meet then 5th (11-5) at North Coast Section Meet of Champions during subsequent outdoor season... Captured area title and finished 2nd at MOC in 2011... Went on to finish 13th (11-3) at CIF state championships as a junior... Had a stop-and-start relationship with the pole vault: competed as a freshman, switched to horizontal jumps as a sophomore, then returned to vault as a junior at the urging of her coach... Won five Sonoma County League championships in her career: three in pole vault, one in triple jump, one in long jump.

PERSONAL: Born in Santa Rosa, Calif.... Has not declared a major... Parents are Scott & Vickie Steffen... Career highlight was winning the state indoor championship despite breaking both a pole and her pinky finger during warm-ups... Proudest personal accomplishment was co-organizing a mock track meet to raise funds for the Polly Klaas Foundation.
