UC Davis Starts Spring At Stanford Opener

Aggies win six events in first competition of outdoor season.

2012: Placed 10th in long jump, 14th in triple jump at Big West Conference Championships... Hit season-best 5:47m (17-11.5) in opening attempt in LJ, while best triple of 10.80m (35-5.25) was slightly wind-aided... Best wind-legal TJ was 10.45 (34-3.5) during Causeway Classic dual.

ANTELOPE HS '11: Competed in high jump and long jump at Sac-Joaquin Section Masters meet in each of sophomore and senior seasons... Hit long jump PR of 18-1 to win 2012 Capital Athletic League title... Also won conference high jump championship that year... Captured All-CAL honorable mention in volleyball and played point guard in basketball.

PERSONAL: Born in Sacramento, Calif.... Majoring in chemistry... Parents are Michael & Kristara Gipson... Michael lettered in track at Air Force... Older sister, Kristara, plays rugby at Cal.
