WESTVIEW HS '12: Competed at CIF state cross country championships every year, including 44th place as a junior... Took 3rd at San Diego Section meet in 2008, 6th in 2010, 16th in 2009... Voted Most Competitive as a senior, Most Inspirational as a junior... Four-time Athlete of the Year in track & field... Qualified to state track championship in 1,600 as a senior (14th, 5:16.33)... Hit mile PR of 4:58.11 at CIF-SDS meet to earn advancement to state... Took 7th at sections in that event as a junior... Also won Palomar League and finished 9th in 800 (2:17.20) at section finals in 2012... Preceded prep career with USATF All-America honors in cross country as an 11-year-old for SoCal RoadRunners.

PERSONAL: Born in Raleigh, N.C.... Majoring in managerial economics... Parents are Hong Yang & Laura Lin... Career highlights were breaking five-minute barrier in mile and helping WHS win San Diego Section banner in 2010... Sports hero is Bernard Lagat... Wishes she could've witnessed Roger Bannister breaking four minutes in the mile... Hopes to run a marathon on every continent.
