2014: Competed seven times in the pole vault, clearing season-best 4.98m (16-4) while winning the event at the Causeway Classic Dual... Also went over 16 feet with 16-0.75 during fifth-place performance at Big West Championships... Did it earlier as well while taking second at Mt. SAC Relays... Won pole vault at the San Francisco State Distance Carnival and Stanford Invitational.

SAINT FRANCIS HS '13: Standout pole vaulter who won trio of West Catholic Athletic League titles and two CIF-Central Coast Section championships... Took sixth at state championships during his senior season and was ranked fifth in the state with a PR of 16-1... Was section runner-up as a sophomore... Twice named Vertical Jumper of the Year.

PERSONAL: Born in Mountain View, Calif... Majoring in managerial economics.. Parents are Steve and Maider Toney... Father was a pole vaulter at Cal Poly... Best advice for pole vaulter is "If you're scared to do it at this point, you should quit now"... Would like to see more attempts added to his event.
