Women Win Big West; Aggies Take Six Events

UC Davis edges UCSB for first-ever women's title; Aggie men finish sixth

2011: Placed 5th in triple jump (wind-aided 14.42m, 47-3.75) at Big West Conference Championships... Hit season-best of 14.90m (48-10.75) at Woody Wilson Classic... Also competed in long jump three times, posting 6.66m (21-10.25) in Aggie Open.

2010: NCAA West Regional qualifier in triple jump, posting 15.14m (49-8.25)... Moved into 8th in school history with that mark... Previous best was 15.03m (49-3.75), good for 3rd at Big West Conference Championship... Also made four appearances in long jump, recording 6.54m (21-5.5) at Woody Wilson... Led team indoors in triple, hitting 15.09m (49-6.25) at UW Invitational.

2009: Opened season with season-best marks in triple (14.80m, 48-6.75) and long jump (wind-aided 6.90m, 22-7.25)... Best wind-legal long jump was 6.73m (22-1) at Hornet Invite... Placed t12th in long jump (6.61m, 21-8.25), 5th in triple jump (14.87m, 48-9.5) at Big West Conference Championships... Competed in two indoor meets, posting bests of 6.51m (21-4.25) and 14.39m (47-2.5) at Husky Invite.

2008: Redshirted.

LA JOLLA HS '07: Two-year CIF state meet qualifier... Won San Diego Section meet as a senior, posting mark of 45-8.25... Was CIF-SDS runner-up in both long jump (21-10) and triple jump (45-8) as a junior... Also played basketball and football, earning All-Western League honorable mention as a senior receiver... Named to San Diego Union-Tribune All-Academic squad.

PERSONAL: Born in the Ivory Coast (now Côte d'Ivoire)... Double-majoring in communication and French... Parents are Francis Bruce & Pauline Yao... If he were to win $1 million, he would buy his mother a house.
