VENTURA HS '12: Three-time Southern Section qualifier in high jump, placing 8th as a sophomore and senior... Won Channel League titles in 400 (PR 49.74) and high jump (6-4) in 2012... Best high jump of 6-7.92 came at Mt. SAC Relays earlier that year... Anchored team's 4x400 relay in six meets, including league and section championships... Member of sprint medley relay squad that won Arcadia Invitational... Also a team captain and MVP as a center defender in soccer... Graduated magna cum laude (4.3 GPA)... Won Kiwanis Scholar-Athlete award for athletics, academics and community service.

PERSONAL: Born in Ventura, Calif.... Majoring in exercise biology... Parents are Dean Ryan & Leslie-Lynn Pawson... Note to Aggie historians: this is a different Dean Ryan from the former UC Davis wrestling coach... Among his career highlights was winning the high jump that clinched the Channel League title during his freshman year.
