STANFORD, Calif. - Brandon Greenberg captured first place in the men's collegiate shot put at the Stanford Invitational on Saturday afternoon while the Aggie men's 4x400-meter relay was first in its heat as UC Davis brought to a close a busy weekend of track and field action in the Bay Area.

Cekarri Nixon and Leslie Reed each had strong marks in the 200 while Katelyn MacFabe posted one in the collegiate hammer event as all three made their marks on the program's all-time lists.

UC Davis brought to a close a busy weekend in which it also participated on Friday at Stanford and at San Francisco State.

Greenberg's winning mark was officially listed at 16.94 meters (55-07), however, it is believed to have possibly been mismeasured. Still, his second-best throw - 16.19 meters (53-01.50) - would've still been good enough to win the event. His performance is also a PR and will move him up to at least No. 9 on the all-time list once the official mark is determined.

UC Davis' long relay of Everardo Villalobos, Jason Chandler, Hosea Tate and Karl Moran posted a time of 3:15.95 - just off its season-best of 3:15.76 - while finishing ahead of Alaska Anchorage and four other teams for another highlight on the track. The Aggies were eighth overall.

Nixon and Reed each made their debut on the 200's all-time ledger with PR's on Saturday. They each were officially timed in 25.07, tying them for No. 8 on the list with Kandyce Doxey (2011). Freshman Katie Fry came close to cracking the 800 list, posting a time of 2:11.37.

The field events also brought highlights for the Aggies including MacFabe's 11th-place finish in the collegiate hammer throw. Her best effort was measured at 47.65 meters (156-04), pushing her into 10th place all-time at UC Davis.

Lauren Radke was just a half-inch off her PR in the invitational pole vault, placing fourth at 3.85 meters (12-07.50), while Ashley Hearn was eighth in the invitational discus at 50.29 meters (165-00), best on the team this season.

Ethan Ostrom also had a good performance in the pole vault, clearing 5.10 meters (16-08.75), tying for sixth in the invitational division and providing the Aggies' their top mark of the spring.

"Day 2 of the Stanford Invitational was an exercise in measuring out individual and team efforts for the duration of a long meet," said head coach Drew Wartenburg. "The focus will shift immediately to a scored, team competition next weekend at Sacramento State."

UC Davis will participate in the Mondo Mid-Major Challenge at Sacramento State beginning Thursday and running through Saturday.
