DAVIS, Calif. — UC Davis sophomore Mikaela Adolphus scored her first Big West Conference Track and Field Athlete of the Week award of the 2018 season, as announced by the league office Tuesday afternoon, after her performance at last weekend’s Cal Opener meet.
The sprinter from Los Angeles, California, competed in the women’s 200m dash, 400m dash, and the 4x400 relay, posting a third-place, first-place, and second-place finish, respectively. Adolphus won the 400m dash in 55.45 seconds, which currently ties for eighth in the UC Davis record book, and she led the Aggie group of five in the 200m dash with a 24.88 time, which was good for a third-place finish.
In the 4x400 relay, the Upland HS graduate ran the opening leg to help her team garner a second-place finish after concluding their relay at a 3:48.86 clock mark.
The UC Davis track and field team resumes their competition season at the Woody Wilson Track and Field on Friday afternoon as they prepare to host their annual Aggie Open meet.
