Olympian Jon Drummond Scheduled To Appear Saturday At Track Meet

SACRAMENTO, Calif. - Olympic Gold Medalist Jon Drummond will be making an appearance at Sacramento and Davis area track meets on Saturday, March 13, 2004. He will first visit the 2nd Annual CAL invitational at Bella Vista High School in Fair Oaks, CA events begin at 9am. Mr. Drummond will also be making an appearance at the "Aggie Open Track Meet" to be held at the UC Davis stadium events scheduled to begin at 11a.m.

Mr. Drummond was a member of the U.S. gold-medal and world record holding 4 X 100-meter relay team at the 2000 Olympics in Sydney, Australia. Jon is considered one of the fastest starters in the history of the sport, and has established a consistent career as one of the United States' top-performing sprinters. He has earned rankings in the top 10 in the World over the last decade in the 100 and 200 meter events

Mr. Drummond will be available for autographs and will be visiting with athletes and coaches. It is his desire to support area track and field events and to promote his recently formed "With Purpose" company. The With Purpose company helps to raise funds for the 501(c3), Jon Drummond Achievement Foundation.

The With Purpose Company extends partnership opportunities to aspiring High School and College athletic departments utilizing his sports celebrity to draw student athletes to guest and sports clinician events and meets. Mr. Drummond will also be competing in the 2004 Olympic Trials here in Sacramento and is anticipating a third return to the Olympics to be held this year in Athens, Greece.

Mr. Drummond will also be available for autographs later on that day at Mountain Mike's Pizza, 4623 Mack Rd. (916) 392-4665. He will be signing autographs from 4-6pm.
