IRVINE, Calif. - UC Davis' Alycia Cridebring, whose time of 16 minutes, 30.85 seconds in the 5,000-meter run at last week's Aggie Open currently leads NCAA Division I, was named the Big West Female Track Athlete of the Week on Tuesday, joining teammate thrower Praise Adesida who claimed Field Athlete of the Week accolades, it was announced.
It marked the second straight week that UC Davis has swept the awards.
Cridebring, a junior from Pleasant Hill, was victorious in the 5K during Saturday's home opener for UC Davis. She led a 1-2-3 Aggie finish in the distance race. Her time, less than a second off her PR set last year, is tops in the country during the early part of the outdoor season.
