2014: Competed in five of the team's eight meets on the season... Finished among the scoring group for the Aggies at the Big West Championships, completing the 8K Riverside course in a time of 25:21.6... Posted his season-best 8K time at the Stanford Invitational, crossing the line in a time of 24:48 to help UC Davis to a sixth-place team finish... Was the second Aggie runner across the line at the NCAA Pre-Nationals in Indiana, finishing 34th with a time of 25:52.9... Finished sixth in the season-opening Aggie Open, covering the 6K course in a time of 19:23... Wrapped up the season with a time of 31:29.3 at the NCAA West Regionals... Named to the Big West All-Academic Team in the fall.
2013: Competed in four meets for UC Davis... Posted his best finish in the season-opening Aggie Open, covering the 4K course in 19:05 to finish 10th... Scored points for UC Davis en route to a fourth-place team finish at the Inter-Regional Jamboree, finishing with a season-best 8K time of 24:55... One of six runners for the Aggies at the NCAA West Regional, completing the 10K course with a time of 31:38 to finish 82nd... Also posted a time of 25:13.73 at the Pre-National Invitational in Terre Haute, Ind.
2012: Ran in four races in his first season with the Aggies...Finished a season-best 36th at the Doc Adams Open (8K) in a time of 25:44...Finished 44th at the Big West Championships (8K) with a time of 26:28.3...Placed 109th at the Stanford Invite (8K) in his first collegiate race with a time of 26:17...Also ran in the Bronco Invitational.
ST. JOSEPH NOTRE DAME '12: Four-year varsity letterwinner in cross country with three letters in track and field... Won the Bay Shore League cross country title in 2011 and was second at CIF-North Coast Section Championships... Placed third among Div. V runners at state meet, clocking in at a career-best time of 15:45 to help lead his team to a third-place finish... Finished fifth overall at CIF-NCS meet and state meet as a junior in 2010... All-league first-team honoree for track team as well... Posted career-best time of 1:51.57 in the 800M at state track finals, finishing third... Has PR of 4:17.69 in the mile from the Stanford Invitational... Member of California Scholarship Federation.
PERSONAL: Parents are Jim and Roberta Ratto... Has one younger brother, Daniel... Majoring in political science... Lists his third-place finish at the state track finals as his career highlight after he rallied late in the race to claim third... Hopes to someday qualify for the Olympic Trials...
