UC Davis men's and women's cross country compete in large field at Stanford

2011: Finished third among UC Davis runners at both the Big West Championship (10/29) and NCAA West Regionals (11/12), finishing with times of 25:12.3 and 31:50, respectively... Placed seventh overall at Aggie Open (9/2) with a time of 18:58.

2010: Made Aggie debut at Big West Championships, recording a time of 26:36.8... No. 3 finisher at Doc Adams Open, finishing 12th overall in a time of 26:15.

PIONEER HS '10: Qualified for CIF state championship as a junior, placing 47th among Division III field... Improved to 17th as a senior, having placed 6th at Central Coast Section meet to advance... Finished 3rd in 800 at state track meet in 2010, posting winning 1:51.62 in prelim then setting PR of 1:50.43 in final... Narrowly missed that record with 4th-place 1:50.45 at New Balance Nationals in Greensboro, N.C.... Won CCS 800 title (1:53.00), added 3rd-place showing in 1,600 (4:19.30).

PERSONAL: Born in Walnut Creek, Calif.... Majoring in exercise biology... Parents are Michael & Wendy Strum... Twin brother, Weston, runs cross country and track at Loyola Marymount... Career highlight was placing 3rd in 800 at 2010 CIF state meet.
