TERRE HAUTE, Ind. -- Freshman Kristen Leung was the first Aggie across the line for the women in Indiana, while sophomore Jordy Ceja paced the Aggie men with his third top-10 finish of the season in Santa Clara on Saturday morning, highlighting the UC Davis cross country team's efforts at the NCAA Pre-Nationals and Bronco Invitational, respectively.

Leung clocked a time of 22:20.2 to lead the UC Davis women's squad to an 18th-place team finish in Terre Haute, Ind., finishing 49th overall and logging her second-fastest 6K time of the season. Senior Nicole Lane was second across the line for the Aggies in a time of 22:31.2, followed closely by sophomore Megan MacGregor in 69th with a time of 22:37.9.

Freshman Haley Adel in 77th (22:46.8) and sophomore Katherine Gallaher in a time of 24:04.9 rounded out the UC Davis scoring group, which ran without two of its top runners in senior Hannah Kirkegaard, who dropped out early due to injury, and freshman Julia Lemak, who was unable to finish.

Meanwhile, in Santa Clara, the Aggie men finished 10th overall as a team behind winner San Jose State, led once again by the sophomore Ceja, who finished eighth in a season-best time of 23:55.6. The Panorama City, Calif., native has finished no lower than 12th in any of his four races this season, shaving nearly 15 seconds off his previous best set at the Capital Cross Challenge two weeks ago.

Junior Jon Horvath posted his best finish of the year as the second UC Davis runner across the line, ending the day 34th with a season-best time of 24:36.0 -- nearly a minute and a half quicker than his previous best. Junior Austin Goins (25:08.1), freshman Zachary Katzman (season-best 25:14.6), and junior Oliver Abundez-Dominguez (25:18.4), rounded out the scoring group for the Aggies.

In the men's open race, freshman Xolan Brown was 58th with a time of 26:50.0 as the only Aggie entrant in that race.

On the women's side, UC Davis finished 15th as a team behind Southern Utah, as freshman Sarah Anderson led the way in Sunnyvale, covering the 6K course in a season-best time of 21:49.8 -- more than a minute faster than her time at the Capital Cross Challenge two weeks ago. Brynna Thigpen was just three spots behind with a season-best 21:51.5, senior Clara MacLeod, in her first race since the Bill Dellinger Invitational, finished 65th with a time of 21:57.6, while Olivia Goins (23:14.4) and freshman Emily Antonino (23:44.0) rounded out the group for the Aggies.

Both the UC Davis men and women are off until Oct. 29, when the Aggies travel to Honolulu, Hawai'i, to compete at the 2016 Big West Conference Championships.
