Solid Day for Aggies at Doc Adams Open

DAVIS, Calif. - The UC Davis men's and women's cross country teams turned in a solid day at their own Doc Adams Open on Saturday at the Putah Creek Reserve Course in Davis.

Sarah Tusting was the Aggies' top finisher as she placed fifth overall in the women's 6K in a time of 21:21.9. She was followed by Nicole Aha who came in 14th overall in a time of 21:48.8 while Raquel Lambdin was 16th overall, recording a time of 21:50.8.

Hilary Teaford also turned in a top-20 performance for the women, clocking in at 21:53.5 to finish 18th overall.

Alex Arrellanos and Melinda Zavala finished 35th and 36th, respectively, with Arrellanos recording a time of 22:35.6 and Zavala crossing the line in a time of 22:36.1.

Abbey Gallaher was 43rd in a time of 22:46.1 while Anna Smidebush came in 45th in a time of 22:59.9. Sophomore Courtney Crosta was 46th in a time of 23:01.9.

Kristin Arkin and Katie Nast completed the women's lineup for UC Davis with Arkin finishing 54th (23:34.4) and Nast coming in at 60th in a time of 23:54.8.

On the men's side, freshman Joseph Rivera finished 27th overall in the 8K race with a time of 25:28.2. Simon Graves followed only two places later with his time of 25:36.2.

Drew Petersen and Trevor Ehlenbach finished back-to-back in 39th and 40th, respectively. Petersen turned in a time of 26:01.2 while Ehlenbach clocked in at 26:04.9.

 

 

Freshman Kelly Hernandez was 48th in a time of 26:36.2 while Diego Escobar, also a freshman, was 54th in a time of 27:19.7. Newcomer Kyle Woolsey finished in 57th in a time of 28:02.8.

UC Davis will now prepare for the NCAA West Regional meet, hosted by Stanford on Nov. 12.
