TERRE HAUTE, Ind. -- UC Davis seniors Kim Conley and Kaitlin Gregg earned 80th- and 118-place finishes, respectively, in the women's six-kilometer race at the 2008 NCAA Division I Cross Country Championships Monday morning at the Vern Gibson Championship Cross Country Course.

"The opportunity to run at a National Championship event proved to be a valuable experience," said Aggie head coach Drew Wartenburg. "Both Kim and Kaitlin finished their cross country careers at the highest possible level. Our next task is to continue building toward the goal of bringing a full men's and women's team to this meet in the future."

The seniors became the first Aggie runners to qualify for the NCAA Division I Championships since Patti Gray in 1983. Conley earned the highest finish of 80th with a time of 21:02.20 on the 6K course. Gregg placed 118th in 21:20.20.

Oregon won the men's title with 93 points while Washington won the women's title with 79 points. Sally Kipyego of Texas Tech won the women's title and Galen Rupp of Oregon claimed the men's crown.

Conley and Gregg were the top two finishers for the women's team in six total meets this season. Both runners finish their careers with All-Big West Conference and All-West Region honors and a trip to the national meet.
