NEW ORLEANS, La. - Senior Alycia Cridebring, an all-region runner this past fall for the UC Davis women's cross country team, has added honors for her work in the classroom by being named to the USTFCCCA Div. I All-Academic team, it was recently announced.
Cridebring, from Pleasant Hill, Calif., was among 129 athletes who earned the academic distinction. Honorees must have earned at least a 3.25 cumulative GPA and been among the top 10 percent of finishers at the NCAA regional meet. Cridebring, who carries a 3.33 GPA while majoring in environmental science and management, led the Aggies with a 19th-place finish at November's regional race in Sacramento, earning all-region honors.
This is her first All-Academic cross country award from the United States Track and Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) and adds to the three honors she's received so far on the track side. She is also a Big West All-Academic selection.
Cridebring is currently preparing for the outdoor track and field season and currently holds the school record in the 5,000-meter run (15:49.05). She is also third all-time in the 1,500 (4:21.94) and set the Aggies' indoor 3,000 record this winter at 9:16.39.
