DAVIS, Calif. - It was announced Friday by the United States Track and Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) that the UC Davis women's cross country team has been named a 2008 All-Academic Team. It marks the second consecutive season that the Aggies have been honored with the accolade.

For a team to be eligible for the distinction, they must have a cumulative team GPA of at least 3.0 and have complied a team score at an NCAA regional. UC Davis met the standards with a 3.18 GPA and a program-best finish of sixth at the West Regional in Palo Alto last November.

National champion Washington was named the Scholar Team of the Year.

Seniors Kaitlin Gregg and Kim Conley led the Aggie charge all season and earned All-Big West Conference and All-Region accolades in the process. The duo also qualified for the NCAA Championships. Gregg was also the academic leader for the team and was recently named USTFCCCA and Big West All-Academic.
