AGGIES RETURN TO ACTION AT STANFORD INVITE
The UC Davis men's and women's cross country teams return to action on Saturday as both squads make the short trip to Stanford for the 39th Annual Stanford Invitational.
The men's 8K race will begin at 9:50 a.m. while the women's 6K race will follow at 10:30 a.m.
The event will be held at the Stanford Golf Course.

SCOUTING THE WOMEN'S FIELD
The UC Davis women are part of a 37-team field for the women's 6K race.
Host and sixth-ranked Stanford highlights a competitive women's field which also includes No. 18 San Francisco.
The field also includes several of the top teams in the West Region, including No. 9 Cal, No. 11 Cal Poly and No. 14 Loyola Marymount... UC Davis is ranked sixth in the West Region.
Fellow Big West Conference members UC Irvine, UC Santa Barbara, Cal State Fullerton and Hawai'i will also be part of the women's 6K race.
A LOOK AT THE AGGIE WOMEN
UC Davis' women's team will be comprised of a mix of returners and several talented newcomers who claimed a collective fourth-place finish at the Sept. 8 Hornet Jamboree.
Junior Hilary Teaford and sophomore Melinda Zavala will be joined by freshmen Erika Barr, Venus Shabgahi, Anna Welsh and Julia Yang.
Welsh was UC Davis' No. 2 finisher at the Hornet Jamboree, finishing 16th in a time of 18:21.4... Shabgahi was 26th in a time of 18:46.3.
Zavala and Barr also competed at the Hornet Jamboree, finishing 31st and 33rd, respectively.
Yang last competed at the season-opening Aggie Open, placing 22nd in a time of 15:06.
SCOUTING THE MEN'S FIELD
The UC Davis men will compete in a 35-team field on Saturday.
Stanford ranks ninth nationally and second in the West Region to lead the field.
Several of the top-ranked teams in the West Region will also be in action, including No. 7 Cal Poly, No. 8 Cal, No. 12 UC Santa Barbara, No. 13 San Francisco and No. 15 Sacramento State.
UC Irvine and Cal State Fullerton complete the list of Big West teams in attendance on Saturday.
A LOOK AT THE AGGIE MEN
UC Davis will send a true scoring squad to the Stanford Invitational, led by sophomore Trevor Halsted and junior Grayson Hough.
Junior Nathan Strum will also be in competition for UC Davis and will be joined by freshmen Amar Dholakia, Eric Neill, Cody Nguyen, Brandon Pugh, Nick Ratto and Jordon Rushing.
Halsted won the season-opening Aggie Open while Hough and Pugh were fourth and eighth, respectively.
Neill was the men's top finisher at the Hornet Jamboree on Sept. 8, finishing 21st... He was just seven seconds ahead of Rushin who was 23rd.
Nick Ratto will make his Aggie debut after running as an unattached competitor at the Aggie Open and the Hornet Jamboree.
RECAP: PAC-12 PREVIEW (9/8)
Sarah Sumpter finished second overall, clocking in at 17:07 and just five seconds out of first place, to lead the UC Davis women to a second place tie at the UCLA-hosted Pac-12 Preview on Sept. 21.
Sumpter paced six Aggie women who finished in the top 30, including Alycia Cridebring who was fifth in a time of 17:38... Katie Fry who was 14th in a time of 18:03.
Raquel Lambdin was 25th while Christine Hoffman, in just her second race as an Aggie, came in 28th with a time of 18:44... Shannon Harcus was 30th to round out the six Aggie women in the top 30.
COMING UP NEXT
UC Davis will send runners to two different meets on Oct. 13.
One group will travel to Louisville, Ky. for the NCAA Pre-Nationals... The second group will travel to Santa Clara's Bronco Invitational.
