DAVIS, Calif. -- As the 2017 cross country season winds down, the UC Davis men's and women's squads will host its final home meet this weekend at the Putah Creek Reserve Course in Davis, Calif.,  for the annual Doc Adams Open on Saturday, Nov. 4.

The morning will start off with the men's 8K race at 10 a.m., followed by the women's 6K 45 minutes later. Results will be posted at UCDavisAggies.com as soon as possible after the end of the meet.

This event is scheduled to include runners from Chico State, Pacific, San Francisco State, Saint Mary's, Stanford, UC Santa Cruz, as well as from the UC Davis XC & Track Club, while UC Davis is scheduled to have a large sum of their men's squad race.

Seniors Oliver Abundez-Dominguez and Austin Goins, as well as sophomores Fenn Hoppe and Tom Robey, are expected to make their 2017 season debut at this home event. The rest of the Aggie participants on the men's squad will include graduate students Jon Horvath and Thomas Madden, seniors Anthony Sanchez and Jesus Salas Jr., juniors Jordy Ceja, Kiernan Elam, and James De Mello, sophomores Xolan Brown and Zachary Katzman, and freshman Ryman Crone.

As of the time of release, none of the UC Davis women's squad have been scheduled to participate in the Doc Adams Open.

To recap on the top highlights from each of the UC Davis squads at the Big West Conference Championships that took place on Oct. 28, Madden won outright the individual title, helping his team to a fourth-place finish, while sophomore Sarah Anderson placed fifth as an individual, while also acquiring a 20-second faster 6K time than her previous career best time. Aside from Madden, the last UC Davis cross country runner to on the men's team to win the individual title at a conference championships was Jonathan Peterson back in 2010. On the women's team, the last UC Davis cross country runner to win the overall title at a conference championships was Sarah Sumpter, a loved and dearly missed Aggie, back in 2009.

After racing at the Doc Adams Open, the Aggies will have less than a week off from competition before the squads make a trek up north for the NCAA West Regionals in Seattle, Wash., on Friday, Nov. 10.
