2014: Appeared in 31 games, making seven starts... Hit .227 on the season with seven runs scored, and eight RBI, logging a double, triple, and home run... Made his first career home run a "grand" one, slugging a grand slam and later added a sacrifice fly for a five RBI day against rival Sacramento State on April 5 at home... Finished with a career-high two hits off the bench against Hawai'i on May 18, driving home a run with a triple and scoring a run... Also drove home runs against New Mexico State with a pinch-hit single on March 14 and at UC Riverside on April 17... Doubled and scored in a win over Portland on Feb. 23.
2013: Redshirted the season.
REDLANDS HS '12: Closed out prep career with a selection to the San Bernardino County Senior All Star Game as well as an All-San Bernardino County first team selection... Posted a .450 batting average as a senior, opening the 2012 season with a 5-for-5 performance at the plate, hitting two home runs, including a grand slam, and driving in 10 RBI... Finished senior campaign with 33 runs, 33 hits, 37 RBI and seven home runs and stole 10 bases in 12 attempts... Picked up all-area, all-county, and all-league first team honors, as well as All-CIF Southern Section second team accolades after a standout junior season that saw Redlands HS win the Citrus Belt League title... Batted .490 with 33 runs, 38 hits and 31 RBI as well as 10 stolen bases... Twice selected as the recipient of the Kaura Family Award presented to Redlands' outstanding student-athlete.
PERSONAL: Parents are Chris and Carol Ruhm... Older sister Katie attends Cal Poly... Lists Tony Gwynn as his sports hero and says he would be a swimmer if he wasn't a baseball player... Majoring in environmental science and management and would like to pursue a career in forestry.
