BUHACH COLONY HS '08: Named All-Central California Conference MVP as a senior after capturing All-CCC honorable mention as a junior... Earned first-team All-Valley Oak League as a freshman... Helped lead team to Sac-Joaquin subsection title and CIF-SJS runner-up finish in 2008... Played Legion ball for Merced Volunteers... Garnered Western Region Player of the Year award in 2008... Selected as Pueblo Colorado All-Tournament catcher in 2006 and 2008... Also starred in football, earning three straight all-conference awards as a linebacker... Tallied back-to-back seasons with more than 100 tackles... Voted team MVP as a junior, Outstanding Linebacker as a sophomore and senior... PERSONAL: Born in Merced, Calif.... Majoring in exercise biology... Parents are Kevin & Mary Ann Navarra... Best athletes he has faced are Michael Turner (now of Atlanta Falcons) and Cody Martin (now a pitcher at Gonzaga)... Few know he danced with a Portuguese folklore group from ages 3 to 15... Career highlight was hitting 10 homers for American Legion Volunteers in 2008.
