Opened the season with a 3-for-4 performance against Sacramento State on Feb. 20, which included a home run... Put together a five-game hitting streak, starting with a 1-for-4 outing against San Francisco on Feb. 26... Went 3-for-4 with two runs and an RBI against Utah on Mar. 10... Followed that with a 2-for-4 performance against San Jose State, scoring two runs... Stole two bases on the year. 2010: Posted .292 average (62-of-212) with 29 runs, 15 doubles and 3 home runs... Knocked in 35 RBI... Scored four runs against Cal State Northridge on a 4-for-6 performance that included a home run (5/2)... Hit first collegiate homer in a 3-for-5 outing against Fresno State Mar. 28... Final home run of the season was a solo shot on his only hit against UC Santa Barbara May 21... Rode an eight-game hitting streak starting with a 2-for-4 performance against UC Irvine Apr. 25... Went 16-for-33 (.485) with seven runs and five RBI during the streak... Closed out the season hitting cleanly in the final four straight games. 2009: Redshirted. LOS GATOS HS '08: Earned All-De Anza League first-team honors as a junior and senior, after capturing honorable mention as a sophomore... Picked up first-team All-Central Coast Section acclaim in 2008... Helped team to consecutive DAL pennants in 2006 and 2007, including a CCS title in 2006... Head coach was former Aggie outfielder Brad Sanfilippo... Batted .477 with 17 doubles, 4 homers and .590 on-base average as a senior... Nabbed MVP honors in North-South all-star game... Selected to All-Bay World Series first team... Played for Los Gatos All-Net from 2002-03, helping team claim national runner-up finish. PERSONAL: Born in San Jose, Calif.... Majoring in environmental horticulture & urban forestry... Parents are Dennis & Deb Politi... Hopes to play professional baseball then start a career in construction after graduating from UC Davis.
