Appeared in 41 games overall, making 40 starts as the Aggies' everyday second baseman... missed a month's worth of action due to a foot injury, but still hit .326 with 19 runs scored, seven doubles, a home run, and 24 RBI... Ranked ninth in the Big West in average and fifth in slugging percentage (.436)... His four triples ranked in a tie for fifth in the conference... Finished the year fourth on the team with 15 multi-hit games and second with six games of two or more RBI... Finished with three hits in a game three times at Washington (March 1), at home against Long Beach State (April 11), and against Hawai'i (May 16)... Scored two runs in a game five times... 2013:ALL-BIG WEST CONFERENCE SECOND TEAM...Earned all-league honors as a second baseman after he made 53 starts and 54 total appearances in his first season with the Aggies...Hit.324 in 204 at-bats with 31 runs, 12 doubles, two home runs and 33 RBIs...Was the seventh hardest batter to strike out in the nation, whiffing just once every 20.4 at-bats...His .324 batting average ranked No. 9 in the Big West among players with 200-or-more at-bats...Ended the season on a team-best 27-game reached-base streak...Ranked No. 9 in the Big West in assists and No. 8 in turned double plays...Had his first career hit in his first game with the Aggies, against Washington on Feb. 16...Never went more than three games without a hit all season...Posted a season-best three hits in seven games...Went 7-for-14 with a whopping seven runs and nine RBIs in a three-game sweep of UC Riverside in late April...Named CollegeBaseballInsider.com Louisville Slugger National Player of the Week after his performance against UC Riverside...Went 3-for-5 with three runs, a season-high five RBIs, two doubles and one home run in the series finale versus the Highlanders on April 21...Also homered in the second game of the series against UCR, when he went 3-for-5 with four RBIs and three runs scored...Had another strong series the weekend prior at Long Beach State, going 7-for-14.
SAN JOAQUIN DELTA COLLEGE: Named a 2012 California Community College Baseball Coaches Association All-American and a unanimous All-Big 8 first team selection in final season with San Joaquin Delta College after posting a .380 batting average to go with 11 doubles, six home runs and 33 RBI... All-Big 8 second team honoree in 2011 with a .300 batting average and 32 RBI which helped lead San Joaquin Delta College to the California Community College State Championship title... Three times Dean's Honor Roll selection... Also played for the ELmira Pioneers in Elmira, N.Y. in the summer of 2012 and was named a Perfect Game College League (PGCBL) All-Star as well as an all-league first team selection.
SAINT MARY'S HS '10: Led the Rams to back-to-back CIF-Sac-Joaquin Section Div. I championships and consecutive Tri-County Athletic League titles in 2009 and 2010... Posted .341 batting average, six home runs and 34 RBIs as a senior in 2010 to earn All-TCAL honors... Also lettered twice in football and was a 2009 All-TCAL first team selection after helping Saint Mary's to a second straight conference championship and the 2008 CIF-Sac-Joaquin Section Div. I championship... Recorded 87 tackles and two sacks to earn all-area honorable mention accolades.
PERSONAL: Parents are Fred and Liza Patterson... Communication major... Father, Fred, is a 1980 UC Davis alum and two-year member of the Aggie football team... Youngest of three sons, including brothers Maurice and James... Not many people know that he was in his high school band for one year.
