DAVIS, Calif. - The UC Davis baseball team eclipsed the 10-hit mark for the sixth time in the last seven games and snapped a four-game losing streak with an 11-9 victory over visiting Santa Clara in a non-conference game on Tuesday afternoon at Dobbins Stadium.

The Aggies (16-26) posted 11 runs on 12 hits with four errors while the Broncos (10-32) tallied nine runs on 11 hits with three errors.

UC Davis reliever Max Cordy (5-5) picked up the win after allowing three runs on two hits and four walks in 2.1 innings with two strikeouts. Reliever Ben Burke picked up his first save of the season after tossing the ninth. Santa Clara reliever Kenny Treadwell (1-2) suffered the loss giving up three runs (none earned) on two hits and a walk while recording two outs in the eighth inning.

It was in the eighth inning when the Aggies broke an 8-8 tie with three runs on two hits and two errors.

Santa Clara made five defensive changes prior to the inning but that did little to help prevent two costly errors. John Williams reached on a throwing error to start the inning and moved to second when Paul Politi reached on a fielding error. Steve Patterson followed with a game-winning two-run double over the head of the left fielder. Patterson eventually scored an insurance run on Izaak Silva's two-out single up the middle.

Patterson finished the day 2-for-4 with two runs and two RBIs while catcher Cameron Olson went a team-best 3-for-3 with two runs scored. All but one player in the lineup for the Aggies had at least one hit.

Zach Looney led the Broncos with three hits while Casey Munoz hit a two-run homer that tied it up at 8-8 in the top of the eighth inning.

Tuesday's game against Santa Clara was the first in a five-game homestand for the Aggies. UC Davis plays host to Cal State Northridge for a three-game series starting Friday afternoon before hosting rival Sacramento State next Tuesday.
