DAVIS, Calif. — After hitting a team-high .833 at the plate in the Aggies’ road series victory over CSU Bakersfield, UC Davis shortstop Brad Pluschkell was named Big West Conference Field Player of the Week, as announced by the league on Monday.
The conference nod marks the first player of the week award for the Aggies this season and first in Pluschkell’s career.
The Pleasanton, Calif. native began his 2018 campaign 4-for-4 with two runs scored in the Aggies’ season-opening victory against CSU Bakersfield. Pluschkell went on to match his 4-for-4 effort in game two while scoring one to help the Aggies to a 15-1 win, then wrapped up the series finale 2-for-4 with an on-base percentage of .846 and .917 slugging percentage.
