UC Davis and San Jose State played until the 11th inning at Blethen Field in San Jose, but with the game tied 3-3, play was suspended due to impending darkness... A date for completing the game has not been set.
The Aggies claimed a 3-1 series victory over Utah at Dobbins Stadium after topping the Utes 9-8 in 10 innings on Monday.
Brett Morgan currently leads the Aggies with a .417 batting average and three stolen bases.
CSU Bakersfield enters the weekend with a 3-1 record as well... After dropping the season opener to Kansas State, the Roadrunners have won the last three straight, including a 4-0 win over Fresno State on Wednesday.
Oscar Sanay leads the Roadrunners offensively at 9-for-17 on the young season (.529)... He was 2-for-4 with an RBI in the win over the Bulldogs.
ALL-TIME VS. CSU BAKERSFIELD
CSU Bakersfield owns a 5-1 all-time lead with the Aggies last defeating the Roadrunners on Apr. 16, 2010 at Hardt Field... UC Davis scored nine runs in ninth inning to claim the 12-11 win.
Last season, the Roadrunners won both meetings.
Matt Vaughn was named head coach of the UC Davis baseball team in August 2011 and begins his 20th overall season with Aggie baseball... He pitched for the Aggies from 1989-92, then stayed on as an assistant and associate head coach... Vaughn will also continue his duties as pitching coach.
Bill Kernan enters his fourth year as head coach of CSU Bakersfield after being named the Roadrunners' first-ever baseball coach in 2007... He has compiled a 72-89 record at CSU Bakersfield as the Roadrunners finished 33-22 in 2011... Last year, the Roadrunners earned their first-ever national ranking after putting together 10-game winning streak in March 2011.
SCOUTING CSU BAKERSFIELD
The Roadrunners fell to Kansas State 7-5 in 11 innings in their season opener, but regrouped to win the next three straight, including a 4-0 victory over Fresno State on Wednesday.
Sunday starter Taylor Aikenhead threw a complete game three-hitter on Sunday in the series finale against Kansas State... He allowed just one run and struck out seven in the 8-1 win.
Oscar Sanay was a Louisville Slugger Freshman All-America selection last season and led CSU Bakersfield in hitting in 2011... He is off to a strong start in 2012, hitting .579 to start the year.
The Roadrunner pitching staff owns a 2.13 ERA through four games and has struck out 30 opposing batters through the first four games.

LAST TIME OUT
UC Davis and San Jose State battled through 11 innings, but were tied 3-3 at the top of the 12th before play was suspended due to darkness.
The Aggies were held hitless until the sixth inning when UC Davis piled on four hits, leading to three runs and a 3-2 lead.
San Jose State rallied for the game-tying run in the seventh inning.
A date for completing the game has not been set.
HITTIN' THE ROAD
Tuesday's game against San Jose State marked the first of five straight that UC Davis will play on the road.
UC Davis will remain on the road through the weekend, then travel to face Stanford - currently ranked No. 2 nationally by Baseball America - on Feb. 28.
UC Davis' 2012 schedule is comprised of large stretches of home games... The Aggies will play seven straight on the road Mar. 29-Apr. 7 then another eight in a row away from Davis Apr. 20-May 2.
Last year, UC Davis was just 7-20 on the road.
Senior southpaw Dayne Quist was lights out on the mound in Friday's season opener against Utah.
He struck out a career-high 12 Utah batters and did not allow a walk while giving up just three hits in six shutout innings.
Quist retired eight straight to open the game, including five consecutive strikeouts, in the first three innings... He fanned the side again in the fourth, then got the Aggies out of a jam in the fifth with another strike out with two outs and two on.
He retired the side in the sixth before leaving the game.
LOOK OUT FOR LIPSON
Redshirt freshman Alex Lipson made his Aggie debut over the weekend and did not disappoint, hitting .357 (5-for-14) with a run and five RBI in his first games as an Aggie.
He drove in three runs in UC Davis' 6-2 win on Sunday, then went 1-for-3 with two more RBI in Monday's 9-8 extra inning win.
Lipson also stole a base and drew three walks.
UC Davis turned a triple play against Utah - the first since Mar. 4, 2007 - thanks to shortstop Alex Lipson.
Lipson collected a line drive, stepped on second base to tag the runner out there, then threw over to first for the final out in the third inning on Monday.
Evan Hudson last accomplished the feat against Portland on Mar. 4, 2007 in Dobbins Stadium.
The season-opening series against Utah marked the debut of eight field players and four pitchers for UC Davis.
Alex Lipson started all four games while outfielder John Williams and designated hitter Nick Lynch each started three games... The trio combined to go 12-of-35 (.342) with five runs, a triple and nine RBI.
Austin Logan started at first base on Monday and went 1-for-2... Kevin Barker started in right field on Monday and went 1-for-3 with two runs... Evan Wolf appeared as a pinch hitter in two games, while Evan Heptig and Izaak Silva each made appearances as well.
On the mound, Ben Burke earned his first start of the year on Monday after providing relief on Friday for UC Davis... He did not allow a run and gave up just two hits in five complete innings of work... Craig Lanza, Spencer Koopmans and Patrick Hennessey each provided relief for UC Davis.
2012 SCHEDULE OUTLOOK
UC Davis' 2012 schedule features seven teams who advanced to the NCAA Div. I Championship... Three Aggie opponents are ranked in Baseball America's preseason top-25: No. 2 Stanford, No. 5 Arizona and No. 25 Cal State Fullerton.
The Aggies will play fifth-ranked Arizona Mar. 6-7 in Tucson as the Wildcats open Hi Corbett Field, the new home of Arizona baseball.
UC Davis will also travel to Honolulu for its final nonconference series as the Aggies take on Hawai'i for a four-game series... The Rainbow Warriers begin their final season in the WAC before joining the Big West Conference for the 2013 season.
Big West play begins on Apr. 5 at Cal State Fullerton.
