Tuesday: RHP Keith Rogalla (1-1, 3.98) vs. RHP Matt Blais (0-1, 4.91)

FIRST PITCH: Following a 12-day break that included time way from the diamond for final exams, the UC Davis baseball team takes a spring break trip to the Mecca of college baseball -- Omaha, Neb. -- to kick off a run of seven games in 10 days, facing Creighton in a three-game series beginning Sunday at 11 a.m. PT at TD Ameritrade Park. First pitch for Monday and Tuesday's games are scheduled for 4:30 p.m. PT and 12:30 p.m. PT, respectively.

LOOKING AHEAD: Part of a run that will see the Aggies wrap up a stretch of nine of 12 games at home, UC Davis opens Big West Conference play by hosting CSUN in a three-game series at Dobbins Stadium on March 31-April 2, following its trip to Nebraska, and welcomes in Causeway rival Sacramento State for the first of two mid-week games on April 4.

IN THE POLLS: Neither UC Davis, nor Creighton, are ranked among the top 25 polls as of March 20. New polls will be released by the various outlets beginning on March 27.

SCOUTING CREIGHTON: The Bluejays enter the week with a 5-11 overall record, having won their last four straight... After having four consecutive games canceled due to weather, Creighton took 3-of-4 from visiting Utah Valley, winning the final three games of the series by a combined 28-12 score -- most of that coming in a 19-5 win in the series finale -- after falling, 2-1, in 11 innings in the opener, then took down Kansas, 7-3, in a midweek clash last week... The Bluejays are hitting .331 with a staff ERA of 3.50 during their four-game winning streak, which follows eight consecutive losses dating back to a 3-1 win at Santa Clara on Feb. 24... Creighton was picked to finish third in the BIG EAST preseason poll... Clark Brinkman, Michael Emodi, and Bryce Only, lead the team with identical .279 averages, while Emodi slugging four home runs and driving in a team-high 19 runs... Sunday's starter, RHP Rollie Lacy, leads this weekend's rotation with a 3.20 ERA while striking out a team-high 29 batters... Monday's starter, LHP Jeff Albrecht, leads the team with two wins and has held opposing hitters to a .195 average in 24 innings.

SERIES NOTES: UC Davis and Creighton will meet in a weekend series for only the second time in the history of the two programs and the first since the Bluejays took 2-of-3 from the Aggies in Northern California on March 2-4, 2012... UC Davis won the second game of the series, 6-3, behind a 3-for-4 day by Scott Kalush in support of starter Anthony Kupbens, who pitched 7 1/3 innings to get the win... Creighton claimed one-run victories in the first and third games of the series by the scores of 7-6 and 4-3, respectively... This week marks the Aggies' first-ever trip to the state of Nebraska.

CONFERENCE CALL: This will be only the second meeting between UC Davis and a member of the current Big East Conference alignment, with the Aggies' three-game series against Creighton being the first.

LAST TIME OUT: UC Davis hasn't played since a March 14 mid-week meeting with Saint Mary's at Dobbins Stadium, falling to the Gaels for the second time this season by the score of 5-2... Junior right-hander Matt Blais took a no-hit bid into the sixth inning and left with a 2-0 lead before Saint Mary's struck for a run in the sixth and four in the eighth en route to the victory... Alex Aguiar and Ignacio Diaz each finished with two hits to lead UC Davis, which out-hit Saint Mary's, 9-7, for the game.

AGGIES INVADE RALEY FIELD: UC Davis will host Big West Conference rival Cal Poly at Raley Field -- home of the San Francisco Giants' Triple-A affiliate Sacramento River Cats -- in the second game of their three-game series on April 14. After having played the role of the visiting team four times in Causeway rivalry games against Sacramento State at Raley Field, the Aggies will host a game at the ballpark for the first time since 2005, when they welcomed reigning NCAA champion Cal State Fullerton for the opener of a three-game series against the Titans. More information on that game, including season ticket information and details on a special weekend pass for the Cal Poly series that will feature the naming of the playing surface at Dobbins Stadium in honor of Hall of Fame head coach Phil Swimley, is available here: http://www.ucdavisaggies.com/sports/m-basebl/spec-rel/012717aaa.html.

SHORT HOPS...
• UC Davis enters the week having lost eight of its last 10 -- including a run of four-straight against nationally ranked opponents -- following a series win over Utah Valley on Feb. 24-26, with wins over Penn State (March 8) and UConn (March 12) in that stretch...
• The 10 runs scored in the win over the Nittany Lions were a season high, while the Aggies collected a season-best 13 hits in the walk-off win over the Huskies in the series finale...
• Two of UC Davis' last three wins have been of the "walk-off" variety -- both in series finales -- as Ryan Anderson's RBI double lifted the Aggies to a 7-6 win over Utah Valley on Feb. 26, while Brad Pluschkell's sacrifice fly handed UConn an 8-7 defeat...
• Sophomore Ryan Anderson leads the team with a .373 average and has hits in each of his last five games, batting .450 (9-for-20) with four runs scored and five RBI in that stretch. He has two hits in seven of the team's last nine games and leads the team overall with nine multi-hit games on the season...
• With Cameron Olson's two-run home run in game two of the series against UConn (his second of the season), the Aggies have hit nine home runs in the first 15 games of the season after slugging just three in the same number of games -- and 16 total -- all of last year...
• Olson's long-ball was also the 11th of his career, which places him fifth on the program's Division I list...
• The Aggies' hottest hitter may just be senior catcher Ignacio Diaz who, after collecting just four hits in his first 26 at-bats, is batting .526 (10-for-19) in his last five games, including a career-best 4-for-4 effort in the series opener against UConn on March 10, raising his average from .154 to .311 entering this week...
• Diaz -- along with Anderson and senior Mason Novak -- lead the team with five-game hitting streaks, the longest for an Aggie hitter since Anderson reeled off hits in seven-straight from Feb. 24-March 5...
• UC Davis has picked its spots and has been successful on the base paths, swiping 21-of-28 bags this season, including a perfect 5-for-5 by Aguiar...
• Senior Jacob Thomas, who ranks second on the team with a .316 average entering the week, has reached base safely in his last six consecutive games -- tied for the second-longest streak on the year behind Anderson's run of nine straight -- batting .360 (9-for-25) with five runs scored and four RBI...
• Thomas leads the team with four, three-hit games on the year, including back-to-back performances against Saint Mary's and UNLV to start the year and later against Oregon and Penn State...
• Junior transfer Connor Loar has had opposing bats on lockdown to start his Aggie career, posting an 0.87 ERA in 10.1 innings (five appearances), allowing just nine hits (.250 average against) and one run, while striking out four...
• Junior right-hander Orlando Razo, who missed the better part of the last two years due to injury, struck out a career-high 13 batters in a win over Utah Valley on Feb. 25, breaking Dayne Quist's previous single-game school Division I Era record of 12 set against Utah on Feb. 17, 2012. Razo's previous career high with seven at Portland on Feb. 28, 2015.
