FIRST PITCH: The UC Davis baseball team takes a short break from its home stand with a mid-week trip to Reno, Nev., on Tuesday (May 16), heading east on I-80 to take on Nevada at 6 p.m. at Peccole Park.

MARK YOUR CALENDARS: A correction has been made to the 2017 UC Davis schedule, as the Aggies’ final home series of the regular season against Grand Canyon now begins on Thursday (May 18) at 2:30 p.m., with the final two games scheduled for Friday (May 19) at 2:30 p.m., and Saturday (May 20) at 1 p.m., at Phil Swimley Field at Dobbins Stadium. The Aggies will honor their seniors prior to first pitch of the series finale with the Antelopes on Saturday.

In addition, UC Davis and Pacific will meet one more time on Monday (May 22) at 2:00 p.m. at Dobbins Stadium in a make-up of their postponed contest that was originally scheduled for Feb. 21.

ABOUT THE WOLF PACK: Nevada enters the week with a 17-32 overall record and an 11-15 mark in Mountain West Conference play after taking 2-of-3 from in-state rival UNLV over the weekend… The Wolf Pack are 11-12 at home this weekend, having taken their last three weekend series at home… Nevada is 2-6 in mid-week contests this year, last posting a 6-5 win at Sacramento State back on May 2… Junior utility Grant Fennell leads all regulars with a .327 average, scoring 25 runs, slugging 13 doubles and driving in 19… The Wolf Pack have hit 25 home runs on the year, six of those off the bat of junior transfer Mike Echavia, who is also batting .274 on the year… Tuesday's scheduled starter, freshman left-hander Ryan Anderson, is 1-1 on the year with an 8.27 ERA, allowing 19 runs and 31 hits in 20.2 innings, striking out 14… Opponents are hitting .365 against the newcomer this year.

SERIES NOTES: According to game-by-game records that date back to 1960, Nevada leads the all-time series with UC Davis, 67-44-1, including a 13-4 mark in the Aggies' Division I era… The Wolf Pack swept a pair of midweek contests last season, winning 3-1 in Davis and 5-4 in Reno… UC Davis' last win in the series came on March 10, 2015, posting a 10-4 victory at Phil Swimley Field at Dobbins Stadium… Nevada has won seven of the last 10 meetings on the Aggies' home field… Five of the last six meetings have been decided by two runs or fewer, including four games decided by a single run and two decided in extra innings.

CONFERENCE CALL: UC Davis looks to remain perfect against the "Silver State" with a win on Tuesday after the Aggies posted an 8-3 win over UNLV in their second game of the 2017 season… UC Davis has faced six of the seven current baseball-playing members of the Mountain West Conference, facing all but New Mexico… The Aggies are a combined 100-153-2 (.396) against that field: Air Force (2-2), Fresno State (15-37), Nevada (44-67-1), UNLV (1-0), San Diego State (1-4), and San Jose State (37-43-1)… The win over the Rebels snapped a four-game losing streak against the conference dating back to last year and the Aggies have split their last 12 meetings with Mountain West schools over the last three years.

MULLINS NAMED BIG WEST PITCHER OF THE WEEK: Senior right-hander Justin Mullins became the third UC Davis pitcher to pick up a Big West Conference Pitcher of the Week award on Monday afternoon (May 15) after throwing 8.1 shutout innings to help the Aggies to a win over UC Riverside and a league series victory. The honor was the first of Mullins' career, joining teammates Orlando Razo (Feb. 27 and April 17) and Robert Garcia (May 8) as UC Davis honorees this year. • With Mullins' award on Monday, it marks only the second time in the program's Division I history that three different UC Davis pitchers have won weekly pitcher of the week honors, joining Eddie Gamboa (April 21), Brad McAtee (April 28), and Andy Suiter (May 5), during the 2008 campaign.
• Sophomore Ryan Anderson extended his team-best hitting streak to 15 games with a hit in each of the Aggies' four games last week, giving him the fifth-longest hitting streak in the program's Division I history -- the longest since Paul Politi set the mark at 19 games in 2013…
• UC Davis won its fifth weekend series overall this season by taking 2-of-3 from UC Riverside -- four of those in Big West play…
• The four Big West series wins are the most for the program since the Aggies won five in conference play during the 2012 campaign -- the most since joining the league in 2008…
• Each of UC Davis' last seven Big West series wins have seen the Aggies take 2-of-3 from their opponents dating back to a sweep of UC Riverside in 2015…
• The team's nine conference wins surpassed last season's Big West win total (5-19) and are the most for UC Davis since the Aggies finished 9-15 in 2015…
• One more conference win and UC Davis will post double-digit wins in league play for the fourth time since joining the league: 2008 (13), 2012 (12), 2011 (10)...
Zach Stone locked down his second save of the season after combining with Mullins on a four-hit shutout in game two, giving him 24 for his career and extending his school record total…
• Stone also clinched the win in relief in the opener, improving him to 5-2 on the year and earning the 12th win of his career -- moving him into fourth on the program's Division I wins list…
• In each of the Aggies' two victories against the Highlanders, Anderson provided the game-winning RBI with singles in the 10th and eighth innings, respectively, in games one and two, giving him a team-best four game-winning RBI on the year…
• Teammate Jacob Thomas has also come around to score the game-winning run a team-high six times this season -- combining with Anderson to do so in each of the last three UC Davis victories…
Cameron Olson slugged his seventh home run of the year to help rally the Aggies in game one against UC Riverside -- the most by a UC Davis slugger since Kyle Mihaylo hit the same number in 2010…
• Olson's home run came just one inning before teammate Mark Cardinalli tied the game in the bottom of the ninth with his second career home run -- his first since leaving the yard against UC Irvine on April 22, 2016.
