Lynch Earns Freshmen All-America Nod

DAVIS, Calif. - Nick Lynch, a freshman designated hitter on the UC Davis baseball team, has been selected to the 2012 Louisville Slugger Freshmen All-America team, selected by Collegiate Baseball newspaper.

Lynch appeared in 49 games this season and started 40 at the DH spot, tallying a .302 batting average and team high .450 slugging percentage. The Burlingame, Calif. native managed four home runs and eight doubles while bringing home 26 RBIs.

Lynch also drew 13 walks for a .392 on base percentage. He added an All-Big West Conference Second Team honor following the conclusion of the season.

UC Davis and first-year head coach Matt Vaughn ended the 2012 season with an overall record of 27-30, the highest win total for the Aggies since 2008 when UC Davis advanced to an NCAA Div. I regional.
