UC Davis will enter another week of the season as the league's No. 1 defense by holding opponents to 65.0 points per game, nearly five points fewer than the next ranked team. The Aggies also lead the league in steals (8.1 per game), turnover margin (+2.4) and three-point percentage defense (.303). When Thursday's game tips-off, the Aggies will face a UC Riverside squad that enters its Big West home opener ranked No. 8 in scoring, at 67.1 ppg, and last in three-point shooting with a .305 (84-for-275) percentage.
With a win, UC Davis will capture its sixth victory in the last seven head-to-head games, the fourth in its last five overall and extend UCR's current slide to five games.
Thursday's game will also open a road-heavy portion of the Aggies' league slate since three of their upcoming four games will take place outside of Davis. After this week's Southern California swing, UC Davis will host Long Beach State next Wednesday before facing Hawai'i, in Honolulu, on Jan. 20.
