UC Davis Hosts Pacific, Plays At UC Irvine

Complete Game Notes

DAVIS, Calif. - The UC Davis men's basketball team will have a split week ahead with a home game against Pacific on Wednesday followed by a road battle at UC Irvine Saturday night. Wednesday's game with the Tigers begins at 7:30 p.m. and will be televised on Comcast SportsNet California. All of the action from this week's games is also available on KFSG 1690-AM as well as at www.ucdavisaggies.com.

UC Davis enters the week 9-13 overall and 5-5 in the Big West. The Aggies are tied for third in the conference with Cal State Fullerton, Long Beach State and Cal Poly. Pacific leads the Big West with an 8-2 mark and holds a slim lead over UC Santa Barbara (8-3).

In its last outing, UC Davis had its five-game home winning streak snapped in an 81-77 loss to UCSB on Saturday. The Gauchos jumped out to an early 18-point lead and then saw a 19-point lead with less than four minutes left nearly evaporate. Dominic Calegari led the Aggies with 20 points. Joe Harden posted his sixth double-double of the year with 19 points and 12 rebounds. He also dished out a career-high seven assists. Mark Payne added 18 points, six assists and three steals.

Pacific enters the game 15-7 overall. The Tigers are coming off a 67-61 win over Cal Poly Saturday at home and have won six of their past seven games. Terrell Smith and Sam Willard are leading the squad with 9.5 ppg. Four Tigers are averaging between 8.4 and 9.5 points per game.

Saturday's game at UC Irvine begins at 7:05 p.m. and begins a stretch of five out of seven games on the road for UC Davis to close the regular season.
