OPENING TIPS: The Aggies take a two-game break from Big West action, participating in the ESPN BracketBusters event for the fifth season since moving to NCAA Division I, and then facing Seattle for the third straight year... UC Davis, coming off its home win against rival Pacific on Tuesday, is looking for back-to-back victories for the first time since beating UC Riverside and UC Irvine in Jan. 2011... The Aggies are also trying to stop a 14-game road losing streak, the longest of their Div. I era... UC Davis is 1-3 in previous BracketBuster matchups, including a 1-1 record on the road... The Aggies have averaged 9.7 3-pters over their last three games including back-to-back efforts of 10 and 12 last week versus Cal State Northridge and Long Beach State... G/F Josh Ritchart, who had seven treys against LBSU, has made 20 over his last five games and is shooting 47.6 pct. during that span... That's helped him move to fifth in the Big West at 2.42 pg... G Tyler Les (65, T5th) and Ritchart (58, T-9th) are both in the Aggies' single-season top 10, the only teammates currently on the list for the same season... UC Davis, currently ninth in the Big West in rebounding (30.6), has outrebounded three of its past five opponents... The Aggies have also done a good job protecting the ball over their last three games, averaging just 11.3 turnovers including twice totaling a season-low 11... G Eddie Miller has averaged 12.4 ppg. and 6.4 rpg over his last five games and has shot 78.9 pct. from the line... UC Davis has shot 78.4 pct. at the line during its last three games.

ALL-TIME SERIES VS. LUMBERJACKS: The Aggies and Lumberjacks are meeting for just the third time with Northern Arizona earning wins in two previous meetings during home-and-home games in 2004 and 2005... The Lumberjacks opened an 11-point halftime lead on UC Davis on Hamilton Court on Dec. 4, 2004 before holding  on for a 69-64 win. G Rommel Marentez had 19 points for the Aggies while G Phil Rasmussen came off the bench to grab 11 rebounds... The teams opened the following season in Flagstaff on Nov. 19, 2005 with the Lumberjacks jumping to a 38-25 lead at intermission before cruising to a 78-50 victory...  Rasmussen had 14 points to lead UC Davis.

NORTHERN ARIZONA SCOUTING REPORT: The Lumberjacks are 1-13 in the Big Sky Conference and have been eliminated from contention for a berth in the upcoming league tournament... They enter the weekend on a 13-game losing streak, the last five coming at home... NAU has dropped seven in a row at home overall... The Aggies and Lumberjacks share common opponents in Sacramento State and Eastern Washington... UC Davis lost to both while the Lumberjacks split games against the Hornets and were swept by EWU... NAU is led in scoring by G JAMES DOUGLAS (12.7), the only player in double figures, while G DURRELL NORMAN has a team-best 5.9 rpg... Douglas also has a team-high 42 3-pters and 30 blocked shots... G STALLON SALDIVAR is averaging 5.1 assists... NAU is being outscored 70.8-62.3 ppg and slightly outrebounded at 33.8-32.4 rpg... It's struggled from beyond the arc as of late, making just 21.6 pct. (11-51) over the past four games...  G GABE ROGERS had a team-high 25 points while Norman added 15 but NAU dropped a 79-73 home game to Idaho State last Saturday in its most recent matchup... The Bengals led just 36-34 at halftime after the Lumberjacks shot 54.5 pct. from the field in the opening 20 minutes.

RECAP: UC DAVIS 73, PACIFIC 64: F Harrison Dupont scored 17 points and had eight rebounds off the bench to lead five Aggies in double figures on Tuesday night as the Aggies used a strong second half to beat rival Pacific in a Big West Conference game at The Pavilion... The Aggies featured a balanced scoring attack to beat Pacific for just the second time in their last 54 meetings... G Tyler Les had a trio of three-pointers and scored 15 points, G Paolo Mancasola had 13 and G Eddie Miller and G/F Josh Ritchart each had 10 points and nine rebounds... UC Davis trailed 42-41 with 12 minutes, 36 seconds left on the clock but used a 10-0 run over the next three minutes to take a 51-42 lead with 9:16 left... The Aggies led the game the rest of the way, not letting the Tigers get closer than seven points and leading by as many as 13... UC Davis outrebounded Pacific 37-33 overall including 25-17 in the second half.. .Freshman F J.T. Adenrele pitched in with six to help the Aggies' efforts on the boards..

AGGIES IN BRACKETBUSTER AGAIN: UC Davis is 1-3 in its previous BracketBusters games, including marks of 1-1 on the road and 0-2 at home -- 2008 (L,67-64 at Loyola, Md.); `09 (L,71-70 vs. Fresno St.); `10 (W, 82-74 at Boise St.); `11 (L, 83-69 vs. Hawai'i)... All nine Big West teams are participating in this year's BracketBuster event Saturday: Idaho State at Pacific, Cal Poly at Northern Colorado, UC Santa Barbara at Utah State, Montana State at Cal State Fullerton, Eastern Washington at UC Irvine, Fresno State at Cal State Northridge; Southern Utah at UC Riverside, Long Beach State at Creighton.  

STARTING LINEUP VARIETY: The Aggies have used 15 different starting lineups, including different quintets in 10 consecutive games earlier this season... They've used three in their past five games with F J.T. Adenrele, G/F Josh Ritchart, G Tyrell Corbin and G Eddie Miller starting two of them... Corbin's 21 starts are a team-high while G/F Josh Ritchart is close behind with 20.

MANCASOLA ON POINT RECENTLY: G PAOLO MANCASOLO has a 1.8 assist/turnover ratio, best on the team, picking up 54 assists against just 30 turnovers while averaging 19.8 min/game... He's been especially effective in his last seven games, putting together a 4.8 ratio (24 assists, 5 turnovers) while averaging 26.1 min/game.

CLOSE LOSSES: The Aggies have lost six of their 13 Big West games by a total of 21 points (3.5 avg)... Four of those games have been on the road... Of their close losses, three have been by two points or less, two by either four or five, and one by seven points.

DOUBLE-DOUBLE FOR RITCHART: G/F Josh Ritchart posted his first career double-double with 16 points and a career-high (and Aggie season-high tying) 13 rebounds on Feb. 9 against Cal State Northridge... It's the first double-double for UC Davis this season and the Aggies' first since former G Joe Harden went for 16 points and 10 rebounds in a 65-56 loss at Cal Poly on Feb. 3, 2010.

NCAA RANKINGS: UC Davis continues to be among the top three-point shooting teams in the country, ranking 24th among Div. I teams in percentage (.387) and 28th for treys/game (8.2)... G Tyler Les is 14th for accuracy (.445) while he (48th, 2.6) and G/F Josh Ritchart (82nd, 2.4) are both in the top 100 for treys made.

AGGIES IN BIG WEST TOURNEY: The top eight teams in the league standings advance to the Big West Tournament (Mar. 8-10) in Anaheim... Despite a 2-12 BWC mark, UC Davis will advance to the tournament by virtue of Cal State Northridge being ineligible for postseason consideration.

INJURIES TAKE THEIR TOLL: Five different Aggies have suffered injuries this season which have limited their playing time... G Harrison Dupont (head) missed four games due to injury, including three to start the year; G Eddie Miller (leg) missed five due to injury but was limited to just a few minutes in several others; G Ryan Sypkens (knee) played in the first four but is sidelined for the remainder of the year; G/F Josh Ritchart (flu) missed the UCSB game on Jan. 26; and G Ryan Howley (knee) has sat out the last seven games after leaving the game at Pacific after just two minutes... Altogether, UC Davis players that have seen action on the court this year have missed a total of 40 games. 

3-PT PARADE: G Tyler Les is moving steadily up the single-season charts for 3-pters, currently ranking tying for fifth with 65... He needs one to tie teammate G Ryan Sypkens who had 66 last season and is fourth... G/F Josh Ritchart (58) moved into a tie for 10th on Tuesday... G Fowzi Abdelsamad set the school record with 83 in 2005... UC Davis is on pace to make 254 through its remaining scheduled games, breaking the old mark of 244 (2008-09). 

LES TIES SCHOOL RECORD: G Tyler Les tied a school record with eight 3-pters against San Jose State on Dec. 20... He made five in the second half and was 8 for 9 overall... Les' treys doubled his previous best - done four times prior to his monster game - while giving him a career-high 24 points... His percentage (.889) is tied for fourth-best in a game in Div. I while his eight made are tied for 13th... Three other Aggies also made eight in a game, most recently F KYLE BRUCCELERI against Northern Colorado in 2006.

... AND RITCHART NEARLY DOES: G/F Josh Ritchart nearly matched Les' 3-pters at SJSU by canning seven against Long Beach State on Feb. 11, including making six in the second half... His previous high was five treys, done most recently at UC Riverside on Feb. 4.

ENDING THE STREAK: The Aggies' victory against Cal State Northridge on Feb. 9 halted an 18-game losing streak... It was the program's longest since dropping 22 in a row during the 1952-53 (13 gms) and 1953-54 (7 gms) seasons... The longest losing streak in program history was 24 straight covering parts of two seasons from 1950-51... UC Davis is trying to avoid its 23rd loss which would tie the most for in a season (2006-07).

NBA PEDIGREES: UC Davis features three players whose fathers have played in the NBA... G Tyler Les is the son of head coach Jim Les who spent seven seasons in the NBA, including four with the Sacramento Kings; G Tyrell Corbin is the son of current Utah Jazz head coach Tyrone Corbin who played 13 years professionally; and G Corey Hawkins is the son of former NBA sharpshooter Hersey Hawkins, currently an executive with the Portland Trailblazers... Hawkins, who transferred from Arizona State this fall, will not play this season due to NCAA transfer rules... He'll have three years remaining.

ALL-TIME IN BIG WEST: The Aggies are in their fifth season in the Big West Conference after officially joining the league in 2007... UC Davis is 23-54 (.299) in its previous four seasons, earning trips to the conference tournament in 2009 and 2010, the latter when it advanced to the semifinals... The Aggies are 49-101 (.327) at the Div. I level overall

COMING VIA TRANSFER: Four players have made their way to UC Davis from other schools, three of them from Div. I programs... G Eddie Miller (Cal), F Harrison Dupont (The Citadel) and G Corey Hawkins (Arizona State) are four-year transfers while G Paolo Mancasola is a JC transfer from Shasta College.

UC DAVIS SIGNS THREE: The Aggies announced G DARIUS GRAHAM (Sacramento HS, Sacramento, Calif.) and F TYLER OTT (Desert Hills HS, St. George, Utah) signed National Letters of Intent during the first day of the signing period on Nov. 9 and later added G OLIVIER-PAUL BETU (Worcester Academy; Worcester, Mass.)... Graham averaged 10.6 ppg and was an All-Metro Conference first-team pick last year while helping the Dragons to the NorCal Regional semifinal final... Ott averaged 14.6 ppg last year and is an all-state honoree at Desert Hills... Betu, originally from Montreal, is the fourth-rated guard in Canada's prep class of 2012 and the 18th-rated player overall... He averaged 15.1 ppg. and 5.1 assists last year.

LOOKING AHEAD: UC Davis continues its weekend roadtrip with a nonconference game at Seattle... The teams are meeting for the third straight year but only once this season for the first time... The Aggies will return for the final home game against Cal State Fullerton on Feb. 25.
